By Emily Widle, February 25, 2010 3:55 pm

We are hosting a new contest at Pegasus Lighting.  In order to enter, all you have to do is give us your opinion on our new website!

In case you haven’t heard, our new site will debut in Summer 2010.   It features a sleeker design that is easier to navigate and read, additional features to help you find the right lighting product for your project, and a smoother product purchasing process.  We are still finalizing the design details and we want your feedback.

To enter the contest:

1. Visit the templates of the new pages and compare them to our current site.  You will find four static images of the design templates for different pages of the site.

2. Please provide your detailed opinion on at least two of the pages by posting a comment on our blog (below the New Website post).  Make sure to describe what you like and/or don’t like about the pages and explain why.

3. You must post your comment by March 31st to enter.

Note that our new pages are static representations of what the new website will look like. They are not fully functional web pages yet.

Prizes:

Two grand prize winners will each receive a $150 gift certificate to use on their next lighting purchase.  Ten other winners will each receive an LED battery-operated puck light.  Winners will be chosen at random from contestants and will be notified on April 2nd.

Good luck and thank you for your valuable feedback!

Monthly Forum Winner for December

By Chris Johnson, January 21, 2010 2:35 pm

In April 2009 the Pegasus Associates Lighting Forum went live on our website.  To help garner interest in the forum and to entice people to join, we offered free gifts to new members and had a monthly drawing for a $50 Pegasus Associates Lighting gift certificate for the entire year. Since the forum went live we have 74 members and a total of 174 posts. During the year we had members share their lighting projects, help us by reviewing a new LED product that we were thinking of selling, and, of course, asking their lighting questions.

Now it is time to announce our newest, and final, monthly $50 gift certificate winner. This month our winner is forum member scyce. Scyce joined our forum in July and used the forum to post a question about adding recessed lighting in a basement that he was finishing.

The Pegasus Associates Lighting Forum is an online lighting community with a primary focus on helping answer our website visitor’s lighting questions. Answers may come from one of our technical customer service representatives monitoring our lighting forum, our company president, or another forum member. In addition, our forum is also a place to allow people to share their lighting projects (including images), post lighting articles, and to provide feedback on our products or website.

Our 2009 monthly forum winners:

May: cmgeupel
June: Joe B.
July: Premium
August: pbcomm
September: bigguy
October: Chloe & Co.
November: kalieaire
December: scyce

Thanks to all of our forum members for making this first year of our forum a successful one!

Monthly Forum Winner for November

It is that time of the month again – announcing our newest monthly Pegasus Associates Lighting Forum $50 gift certificate winner. I really do like writing these blog posts. This month our winner is forum member kalieaire. Kalieaire joined our forum in May shortly after it was launched.

To help build our new online lighting community, Pegasus Associates Lighting is giving away:

  • Free lighting gifts to the first 100 members who join the forum. To date, we now have 70 members.
  • Free lighting gifts to the first 50 members who post in our forum 10 times.
  • A $50 gift certificate to one lucky forum member each month for the rest of 2009. There is only one month remaining to be eligible to win a $50 gift certificate.

The Pegasus Associates Lighting Forum is an online lighting community with a primary focus on helping to answer our website visitor’s lighting questions. Answers may come from one of our technical customer service representatives monitoring our lighting forum or another forum member. In addition, our forum is also a place to allow people to share their lighting projects (including images), post lighting articles, and to provide feedback on our products or website.

Our most recent post asked a question about which type of dimmer needs to be used for a 150-watt electronic transformer powering under cabinet puck lighting. The best type of dimmer to use is an electronic low voltage dimmer. If a regular line voltage dimmer is used it may shorten the life of the transformer, cause a slight humming from the transformer, and reduce the range of dimmability.

Give a Gift of Light: Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2009 Lighting Sale

By Chris Johnson, November 25, 2009 2:07 pm

Glowing Christmas GiftLast September one of our manufacturers offered a $3 instant manufacturer rebate on their wireless LED battery-operated lights. Well, that promotion turned out to be quite popular. As a result, I got another phone call from that same manufacturer just the other day. “Let’s do it again!”, they said.

Starting today, continuing through Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and ending on Friday, December 4, 2009, six of some of our most popular LED battery-operated light fixtures have been reduced in price by $3 once again. Since this is an instant manufacturer rebate, there is nothing that you, the customer, have to do to receive this rebate. The rebate is applied once the product is added to your shopping cart.

Give your friends and family a gift of light with LED lighting that:

  • Includes a bright white LED
  • Mounts anywhere
  • Lights up automatically when motion is detected
  • Turns on only in darkness
  • Automatically shuts off after 30 seconds
  • Can be used indoors or outdoors
  • Provides easy safety and security lighting
  • And, may even be remote-controlled.

The Black Friday / Cyber Monday instant manufacturer rebate applies to the following products:

Volunteers Wanted to Review New LED Lighting Product

By Chris Johnson, September 18, 2009 4:18 pm

Volunteers WantedRecently we received a brand new LED lighting product from one of our suppliers to review with the potential for us to sell it on our website. While we were examining it and discussing its strengths and weaknesses, we came up with the idea to have our customers examine and install the product and then give us their unfiltered feedback. We talked with the supplier and they graciously agreed to provide us with several products to give away free to four of our customers. The only requirement, but very important requirement, is that each customer must provide us with complete written feedback about this new product and photos showing the installation of this product.

So, if you are interested in helping us with this review process, you first need to express your interest by adding a comment at the bottom of this post. The rules are as follows:
